The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates has announced the issuance of a commemorative coin made of gold and silver in celebration of the “Zayed and Rashid” campaign. This issuance aims to honor the cherished memory of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, reflecting the significant role of these two leaders in the founding of the United Arab Emirates and in promoting national identity among community members.
Details of the Gold Coin
The gold coin weighs 40 grams and has a diameter of 40 mm. On one side, it features a beautiful depiction of the leaders “Zayed and Rashid.” The reverse side displays the state emblem surrounded by the name “Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates” in both Arabic and English. The gold coin will be available exclusively at the Central Bank headquarters in Abu Dhabi, making it a unique memento that embodies Emirati heritage.
Silver Coin Available for Order
The silver coin weighs 50 grams and has a diameter of 50 mm. Similar to the gold coin, one side features an image of the leaders “Zayed and Rashid,” while the reverse side carries the state emblem along with the phrase “Commemorative Coin” and the name of the central bank in both Arabic and English. This coin will be available for order through the Central Bank’s website, providing everyone the opportunity to obtain this valuable keepsake.

In response to this issuance, His Excellency Khalid Mohammed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank, stated: “We proudly announce the issuance of this commemorative coin, which embodies the meanings of loyalty and belonging to the national legacy left by the founding leaders, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God rest their souls.” He noted that this issuance is part of the “Zayed and Rashid” campaign and reflects the values of unity and development that laid the foundations of our nation. He also reaffirmed the Central Bank’s commitment to preserving and enhancing national history in the hearts of future generations.
