Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Launches “Nokhitha Abu Dhabi” Program with Participation of 200 Sailors
As part of its efforts to enhance Emirati maritime culture, the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy has announced the launch of the “Nokhitha Abu Dhabi” program. This initiative, aimed at empowering 200 sailors, will commence on June 30 and continue for two months. The program focuses on teaching young people the essential skills of sailing while strengthening their connection to their maritime heritage. The launch of “Nokhitha Abu Dhabi” represents a significant step toward preserving traditional sailing sports and educating new generations.
Program Objectives
The “Nokhitha Abu Dhabi” program aims to promote the culture of sailing and teach the fundamental skills necessary for operating traditional vessels. Organized with the participation of over 200 sailors, it prepares them to compete in 22-foot sailing vessel races. The program also seeks to discover young talents, as specialized teams will monitor and evaluate participants to assess their readiness for competition in larger categories, such as 43 and 60 feet.
Training and Evaluation
Training sessions are held weekly at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club beach under the supervision of professional instructors. The program provides a structured timeline and comprehensive educational resources to support participants in their learning journey. Its innovative and interactive approach engages young people and enhances their ability to understand and master the art of sailing.
