Recently concluded in our beloved capital, the “Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit” was organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for Projects and Infrastructure, spanning two days under the theme “Cities of the Future: Innovating Infrastructure for Better Quality of Life.” The summit was honored by the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, who attended part of the activities held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center. His Highness emphasized the importance of leveraging the latest advanced technological solutions in urban planning for smart cities to ensure the sustainability of infrastructures, thereby enhancing community readiness to meet the aspirations of current and future generations and improving the quality of life through investments in comprehensive facilities and infrastructure capable of keeping pace with technological advancements in the construction sector, relying on the latest AI-based solutions.
Within the impressive venue of the summit, numerous activities attracted more than 2,000 experts, elite engineers, decision-makers, and senior officials in urban planning from around the world. Over 25 participating entities showcased local and global experiences in infrastructure sustainability and the adoption of smart urban planning principles in building modern cities, significantly contributing to enhancing the quality of life for community members.
During the summit, the Department of Municipalities and Transport launched the “Bina” platform, which employs artificial intelligence technologies to streamline the building permit issuance process. This initiative aims to reduce transaction processing times by up to 70%, ensuring that applications are completed within 24 hours. The platform also includes features that help curb excess consumption and serves as a unified destination for various governmental bodies, enabling more than 15 entities to access plans and other related documents efficiently.
The Abu Dhabi Center for Projects and Infrastructure also presented a range of initiatives and programs aimed at providing an integrated urban environment that enhances the well-being and quality of life for community members in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The center launched the “Capital Projects Roadmap 2025-2029,” a five-year plan designed to enhance quality of life and sustainability. Notably, the center currently oversees the execution of more than 600 projects valued at over 200 billion dirhams, underscoring its pivotal role in supporting comprehensive development and solidifying Abu Dhabi’s status as a global leader in infrastructure quality.
The “Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit 2025” has reaffirmed the emirate’s leadership in developing a sustainable urban ecosystem, placing people at the heart of development and enhancing the synergy between technological innovation and strategic partnerships.
