Majority of UAE Travelers Depend on AI Technology

68% of Travelers in the UAE Rely on Artificial Intelligence Technologies

Recent studies have shown that 68% of travelers in the UAE rely on artificial intelligence technologies to plan and book their trips. This growing trend reflects a significant shift in how travelers interact with the hospitality sector, as many seek intelligent and efficient solutions to enhance their travel experience. This report is based on a survey of 40,000 consumers from 27 countries, reflecting the interests and needs of a broad audience in the travel industry.

Evolution of Traveler Behavior

The annual Hospitality Sector Report 2025, prepared by Adyen, a financial technology company, revealed notable changes in traveler behavior and their trip planning methods. It was found that 68% of travelers in the UAE use AI to book their trips, representing a 57% increase compared to last year. Consumers are looking for booking platforms that combine product search features with seamless payment options, indicating a growing reliance on technology in this field.

Different Age Groups and Varied Usage Rates

The results show distinct patterns among age groups in how travelers in the UAE adopt artificial intelligence. For example, Generation Z (77%) and Millennials (74%) are the most frequent users of these technologies, while the use of AI among Generation X has increased by 44%, with an annual growth rate of 60%. Similarly, 18% of participants from the Baby Boomer generation indicated how AI has helped them plan their trips more easily.

Benefits of AI in Travel Planning

The overwhelming influx of information through social media has led to increased reliance on artificial intelligence, with 81% of participants stating that the content available on these platforms is filled with advertisements and distracting posts. Additionally, 85% discovered that AI helped them generate relevant travel ideas more quickly, making the planning process clearer and more focused.

Response from Hospitality Companies

Phil Crawford, Global Head of Hospitality at Adyen, emphasizes that the reliance of travelers on AI for trip planning is increasing, prompting hospitality providers to invest in this technology. More than half of hospitality providers (56%) reported that AI search tools will bring significant transformation to the sector by 2025 and beyond. Furthermore, 50% of companies indicated that personalizing services using AI will enhance the guest experience.

The information indicates that payments play a crucial role in the resources needed to facilitate guest experiences, from exploring options through AI to the booking experience. Crawford concluded, “Hospitality companies are moving towards integrating AI functionalities into their platforms to provide a smoother payment experience for guests.”
