The focus is on capacity building, training, supporting startups, and enhancing the implementation of enterprise solutions.

Key Collaboration Areas

The agreement was signed by Saeed Al Qaqawi, Vice Chairman of the Digital Economy Chamber, and Dr. Fai Fai Li, Chief Technology Officer and Head of International Business at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, during the recent Dubai Business Forum – China held in the city of Shenzhen.

This memorandum outlines three primary collaborative pathways: developing skills in artificial intelligence through the Dubai Chambers Academy, supporting the establishment and growth of startups, and enabling institutions to test and apply solutions effectively.

Strengthening International Partnerships

Al Qaqawi emphasised the importance of international partnerships in the field of artificial intelligence, stating, “We are keen to enhance international collaborations in the realm of artificial intelligence as an essential conduit for exchanging expertise and expanding access to specialised technologies and knowledge.”

He further noted, “By enhancing cooperation with partners from around the globe, we aim to empower Dubai’s companies to develop their capabilities and leverage these technologies to improve their operations and innovate new solutions and business models, thereby supporting the growth of the digital economy and elevating Dubai’s status as a global hub for advanced technology.”

Eric Wang, General Manager for the Middle East, Turkey, and Central Asia at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, stated, “We are witnessing a transition of artificial intelligence from experimentation to practical application in daily business operations. Companies that take the lead in adopting these technologies will play a pivotal role in shaping the pace of Dubai’s digital economy.”

Wang further added, “Since 2016, we have been serving our clients in the UAE and are pleased to offer our technologies, training programmes, and startup support initiatives to the business community backed by the Digital Economy Chamber, enabling local companies to enhance their skills and boost their confidence in employing artificial intelligence in their operational processes.”
