Dubai Taxi Corporation, in collaboration with National Taxi and Hala, has announced the renewal of their strategic partnership with Careem for an additional five years. This extension underlines a crucial collaboration that has significantly aided in the digital transformation of the taxi sector in Dubai since the launch of Hala in 2019. The steadfast commitment of all parties involved aims to further enhance this transformative journey in the upcoming period.
Expanded Service Availability
With the renewed agreement, Dubai Taxi and National Taxi will make over 7,700 taxis available for booking through Hala via the Careem app, excluding the airport fleet. This move substantially broadens the operational reach of Hala, which already encompasses more than 26,000 drivers and 13,000 registered taxis on its platform.
Impact of the Partnership
Since the inception of the partnership, approximately 120 million trips have been booked through Hala with Dubai Taxi and National Taxi. This remarkable figure highlights Hala’s position as one of the top access points for taxi services in Dubai, catering to both residents and visitors alike.
Leading the Way in Ride-Hailing
As a local mobility platform, Hala was among the first initiatives in the region to extensively integrate the taxi fleet into a private-sector booking application. Today, it stands out as one of the most robust and sustainable ride-hailing platforms in the area, merging effective taxi management systems from Dubai Taxi with the ride-hailing technology provided by Careem. This collaboration has revolutionised the way users book taxis and utilise their services throughout various parts of Dubai.
