Dubai’s Economic Office Signs AI Adoption Agreements for Private Sector

In a significant move to enhance the adoption of assistive artificial intelligence in the private sector, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Nebius Academy and Lovable. The agreements were witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, marking a pivotal step towards transforming Dubai’s business landscape through cutting-edge technology.

Promoting “Agentic AI” Initiatives

These MoUs are part of the “Agentic AI” programme, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in May of this year. This initiative is designed to facilitate the private sector’s transition towards incorporating assistive AI technologies. The Dubai Chamber oversees implementation, aiming to equip 14,000 companies within Dubai’s business groups with the skills necessary to effectively integrate these technologies into their administrative and operational activities.

Commitment to Training and Development

Saeed Al Qerqawee, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, stated, “We are committed to enhancing the understanding of assistive AI technologies among Dubai’s private sector companies and how to effectively employ them. This will support their digital ambitions, open new avenues for growth, and enhance their competitiveness. Through this collaboration, we aim to build a more innovative and agile business community prepared for the future.” He emphasized the importance of providing specialized knowledge and supporting startups in developing and deploying assistive AI solutions.

Collaboration with Nebius Academy

The MoU with Nebius Academy, the educational and training arm of the cloud computing giant valued at over $63 billion, enables Dubai-based companies to access tailored training programs focused on leadership in assistive AI. This collaboration will take place through the Dubai Chamber Academy, which offers a comprehensive digital platform for specialized training pathways in assistive AI, alongside various other training programmes across a wide range of fields.

Raj Aggarwal, Vice President of Nebius for the Middle East and Africa, highlighted that the partnership with the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy will equip businesses with practical knowledge to transition from mere understanding to effective application of assistive AI in daily operations. He noted that while assistive AI holds the potential to significantly transform business practices and promote innovation and growth, realising this potential requires appropriate skills and capabilities. “We take pride in contributing to Dubai’s ambition to enhance the readiness of the private sector for the future,” he added.

Support from Lovable

The MoU with Lovable aims to expedite the adoption of assistive AI in Dubai’s private sector through capacity building and training initiatives. As part of the agreement, Lovable will support entrepreneurship programmes and skills development tailored for companies and founders in the emirate. This includes providing access to their platform and educational resources, and collaborating on events and joint workshops. The Dubai Chamber will facilitate connections between Lovable and its member companies and partners.

Additionally, Lovable will offer credits for using its platform, funded by the Dubai Chamber, to participants in the “Assistive AI Challenge.” This initiative aims to support entrepreneurs and companies in developing and implementing assistive AI solutions.

Lauren Rudd, Chief Revenue Officer at Lovable, expressed her enthusiasm for the role of assistive AI in enabling any idea to become a reality. “We are thrilled to support founders and businesses in Dubai by equipping them with the necessary tools to launch their innovations and manage their operations,” she affirmed, especially for teams participating in the Assistive AI Challenge.

Building a Future-Proof Digital Economy

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy continues its efforts to foster the growth of the digital economy in Dubai, propelling the emirate towards becoming a leading global digital economy. The signing of these MoUs aligns with the Chamber’s commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector and preparing it to harness future technologies. This initiative reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub for the digital economy.
