This community-led festival aims to unite the curly-haired population under one roof, providing a day brimming with expert advice, brand demonstrations, and community activities. According to research from Oh My Knots, 69% of their community actively seeks UAE-specific product recommendations, while 77% prefer simpler hair care routines over complicated multi-step processes.

Gertrud Mackenzie, the founder of Oh My Knots, expressed her passion for creating this festival, stating, “Dubai Curl Festival is something I wanted to create because our community has been asking for a space like this.” Mackenzie acknowledged a wealth of information available online but highlighted that much of it does not cater to the needs of curly-haired individuals in the Gulf. She hopes the festival will provide a welcoming environment where curls are celebrated rather than seen as imperfections to be fixed.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including expert-led education sessions, brand demonstrations, and wellness workshops. Throughout the day, live styling talks will offer practical techniques and inspiration tailored specifically for the curly-haired community.
