In a recent meeting held at the ruler’s office, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice President of the Executive Council of the Emirate, led discussions focused on enhancing governmental operations within the emirate.

Enhancing Government Operations

The council reviewed various governmental topics aimed at developing an integrated legislative and institutional framework. These initiatives intend to improve systems and procedures while adhering to best practices that promote social welfare and stability.

Legislative Developments

During the session, members were updated on the Advisory Council’s amendments to a draft law regarding the regulation of the reform institution in Sharjah. This is part of broader efforts to establish comprehensive legal frameworks that uphold the rule of law, safeguard rights, and enhance community stability. The council directed its General Secretariat to submit the bill to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for final approval.

Organisational Structures and Governance

The council also examined a report from the Organisational Structures Committee in Sharjah, which included efforts to study and approve organisational frameworks for government entities. The aim is to align their specialised functions with their foundational legislation while optimising administrative and organisational best practices and unifying the approach to developing structures.

Key objectives discussed included reinforcing governance, institutional sustainability, adopting modern organisational structures, enhancing administrative efficiency, and improving integration among various departments to support governmental transformation goals.

Impact on Employees and Performance

The report highlighted the implications of approved organisational structures on institutional aspects, such as the clear definition of administrative levels, lines of authority and responsibility, and governance enhancement. It also addressed how these changes directly impact employees by clarifying administrative hierarchies, competencies, and career pathways.

Furthermore, the report reviewed the organisational structures that have been approved in recent times and outlined plans for completing the remaining frameworks to reflect positively on governmental performance and the collaborative roles among various agencies.
