The Dubai International Marine Club recently concluded its 2026 Summer Sailing Camp, which ran for four weeks and attracted children and youth aged between 6 and 15. The initiative aims to promote modern sailing and discover emerging talents in the sport.
Training and Participation
Hosted at Bulgari Beach in Dubai, the camp saw participation from a diverse group of young sailors. Under the guidance of Emirati coaches, attendees engaged in both theoretical and practical training. The camp culminated in assessment tests, with participants who met the programme’s requirements receiving a Level 1 certificate in modern sailing.
Key Skills Developed
The training programme focused on essential sailing skills, including boat handling and equipment management, safety procedures, and manoeuvring techniques. This foundational knowledge is designed to prepare participants for advanced training stages and future competitive events.
Reflections on the Camp’s Success
Ahmed Al Samiti, Director of Sports Teams at the Dubai International Marine Club, expressed that the camp’s success reflects the club’s ongoing efforts to nurture talent and expand the base of water sports enthusiasts. He extended his gratitude to the club’s board for their support of community programmes, as well as to parents, Dubai Municipality, and partners for their contributions to the camp’s success.
Strategic Vision for the Future
The organisation of this camp is part of the Dubai International Marine Club’s broader strategy aimed at increasing participation in water sports and identifying and training talent for various competitive arenas.
