Sharjah Public Works is carrying out three new parks in the city of Al Madam as part of its development projects aimed at improving quality of life across the emirate’s cities and regions. The initiative is designed to provide recreational and service facilities that meet residents’ needs, create safe green spaces and family-friendly areas for children, and support Sharjah’s wider effort to improve the community environment.
The department said it is implementing the parks to the highest quality standards, with integrated facilities including green lawns, children’s play areas, sports courts and service amenities, all intended to enhance daily living and raise the level of services available to residents.

Progress on the three parks
In a contribution on the radio programme Al Khat Al Mubsar, Engineer Abdullah Al Teneiji, Director of the Branches Department at the authority, said the department is currently building a park in the Twale’ area, where work has reached 80% completion. He said it is expected to be finished within the next two months, with the remaining tasks limited to supplying children’s play equipment, constructing a football pitch and installing lighting columns.
He added that the department has recently received requests from residents for an additional park in the Sha’biya Bin Fadil neighbourhood, noting that work is under way in coordination with the Department of Planning and Survey to identify the suitable plot of land before moving ahead with the project.
Another park has been handed over
Al Teneiji also explained that the park in the Al Thuqaybah area was handed over last month to Al Madam Municipality, which is now continuing with the planting of green areas and preparing the park to استقبال visitors. He said work is also continuing on the commercial district park in the city, which has reached about 40% completion.
He confirmed that once the three parks are completed, the total number of parks in Al Madam will rise to nine, strengthening the spread of green spaces and leisure facilities, providing a suitable environment for sports and recreational activities, and keeping pace with the urban and population growth the city is witnessing.
