UAE and USA Strengthen Prospects for Strategic Economic and Technological Partnership
In an effort to enhance the prospects for a strategic economic and technological partnership, His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, undertook an important visit to the U.S. capital, Washington, D.C. During the visit, Al Mubarak met with several prominent American officials, highlighting the strengthening of cooperation between the UAE and the United States in key areas, including artificial intelligence, energy, and advanced technology.
Meetings with American Officials
During his visit, Al Mubarak met with Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, and Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg. These meetings aimed to bolster UAE-U.S. economic and technological cooperation, reaffirming the “Accelerated Artificial Intelligence Partnership” that was previously launched during former President Donald Trump’s visit to the UAE.
Enhancing Joint Cooperation
The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and expand bilateral relations. They also reviewed the notable progress achieved in UAE-U.S. economic and technological cooperation over the past year, reflecting both countries’ desire to achieve shared strategic goals in vital sectors.
Al Mubarak emphasized that “the economic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States are based on solid foundations of mutual trust and shared growth.” He noted that, despite economic challenges, tangible achievements continue to be realized.
$1.4 Trillion Investment
One of the key points mentioned was the UAE’s plan to invest $1.4 trillion in the U.S. economy over the next decade in strategically important areas, including energy and advanced technology. These efforts align perfectly with the goals of the “Accelerated Artificial Intelligence Partnership” between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to economic and technological collaboration with the United States.
Artificial Intelligence as a Key Focus
The artificial intelligence sector is considered one of the core components of this partnership. Major national companies, such as MGX and G42, have successfully invested significant capital in the field of artificial intelligence, including the development of advanced infrastructure and applied research laboratories. Additionally, the two countries are collaborating to expand this ecosystem to include the “UAE-U.S. Artificial Intelligence Complex” in Abu Dhabi, which is the largest outside the United States.
Partnerships in Energy and Manufacturing
In the energy sector, Emirati companies like ADNOC and Masdar have made significant contributions to strengthening partnerships with the U.S. in energy generation and infrastructure. In manufacturing, Emirates Global Aluminium is taking serious steps to establish a new smelter in the United States, underscoring the growing expansion of Emirati companies in global markets.
All eyes are on a bright future for the UAE-U.S. partnership, as these enhancements are expected to contribute to achieving shared economic and technological goals, benefiting both countries and the global economy as a whole.
