The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is actively participating in the spring meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) taking place in Washington, D.C., from April 13 to 18. Led by Mohammed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, the delegation includes various government leaders. These meetings aim to address key global economic priorities, including prospects for global economic growth, financial stability, and sustainable financial development, along with discussions on development financing and challenges related to the global economy. The UAE’s participation reflects its commitment to being an active player in international efforts to promote economic stability.

Al Hussaini emphasized that the UAE’s participation in these crucial meetings underscores its dedication to contributing effectively to international initiatives aimed at enhancing economic stability. He noted that the current phase necessitates increased collaboration to confront global economic and financial challenges, aiming to create a more resilient and sustainable financial framework.

Fostering Comprehensive Economic Growth

The UAE continues to play a pivotal role in supporting initiatives that promote comprehensive economic growth. “The UAE is committed to adopting balanced fiscal policies and developing innovative financing tools that drive economic development on both regional and global levels,” Al Hussaini stated. The Emirates’ involvement focuses on expanding strategic partnerships with international financial institutions and exploring new opportunities for collaboration, enhancing the UAE’s status as a global financial hub.

A Platform for International Dialogue

The ministry’s delegation will engage in a series of multilateral events throughout the spring meetings, including sessions of the G20, BRICS, and the International Monetary and Financial Committee. They will convene with finance ministers and central bank governors from the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, alongside the IMF’s managing director. The UAE will also participate in discussions surrounding global economic trends and prospects.
