This article delves into the recent high-level discussions aimed at elevating their bilateral trade ties and investment prospects.

Strengthening Economic Ties

In a bid to solidify cooperation between the two friendly nations, His Excellency Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of Foreign Trade, undertook an official visit to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. During this visit, he engaged in constructive discussions with ministers, senior officials, business leaders, and private sector representatives. These talks focused on exchanging insights on how to further elevate the commercial and investment relations between the UAE and Hungary.

Key Meetings and Discussions

During his visit, Al Zeyoudi held bilateral meetings with several key figures, including Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Gergely Karácsony, the Mayor of Budapest. Al Zeyoudi emphasized the shared vision between the UAE and Hungary for achieving sustainable development through the empowerment of the private sector. This approach is expected to create promising collaboration opportunities and enhance bilateral relations in priority sectors.

A Promising Trade Landscape

Al Zeyoudi stated that this common vision has positively influenced their commercial and investment relationships, which have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years. Notably, non-oil trade reached an impressive $793.7 million in 2024, exceeding $434.2 million in the first half of 2025, reflecting a 29.4% year-on-year increase.
